View Full Version : Twain Error
Just wondering why there is always a problem with something getting knocked out of the files need for my scanner. Is there something to check to find out what is causing me to have to uninstall the scanner and re install it all the time? We don't have a virus or anything like that, I keep up on updates and scans.
The error I'm getting this time is:
TWAIN error [T009]
Error opening TWAIN data source. [T015]. Unable to find the TWAIN Source manager [TWAIN.DLL] Please copy the TWAIN.DLL from the source disk to your windows folder [T039]
Thanks for your time. This is getting real annoying, don't use the scanner much but when needed it never works.
It's a Mustek 600 USB
Thanks
:)
Please copy the TWAIN.DLL from the source disk to your windows folder.
I suppose you've done this already and it keeps getting knocked out?
Yes I have:) Everytime I go to use the scanner it's knocked back out.
Thanks
I'm going to send you a email with (?) maybe solution.
Is there anything else that uses TWAIN, like printer or some capture utility? I don't think Irfanview has anything to do with it, but it's something to look at. Email on it's way.
Do you have the scanner turned on when you boot the PC?
In most cases for the twain drivers to load, the scanner must be turned on at boot up

Looks like something I do when I first wake up and don't have my specticles on. Blame it on astigmatisim. :D
Also make sure Still Image Monitor (stimon.exe) is active before you turn on the scanner.

Thanks everyone for your time. :) It was the the still image monitor, it wasn't checked in the startup. Now I know what's going on with it not working all the time. Whenever we have to much on startup I've been unchecking it myself. I didn't realize it worked with the scanner. on me.
Thanks jz, I've been trying to figure this issue out for a long time.
