i am totally lost.i run win98se,sndblster live value,liveware3.0 drivers.i have totally lost sound.in winamp-i can see the eq hoppin but all i get is a loud squealing sound,play a game same sound,go on web same thing.i have checked absolutely everything i can think of.speakers plugged in,no conflicts in dev mngr,all settings in creative fine,+windows audio settings,i have searched at creatives site,cdrom cable attached.what do i have to do reinstall the darn thing.god bless the person who helps me out of this one.thank you.

What was the last thing you did prior to having the problem? Install anything new hardare or software? Try downloading and reinstalling the latest drivers.

Did you recently use it to convert to wav's? Even if you didn't make sure the output is not set to wave output. Doing so does exactly what your describing. Check it in the preferences
