Is RR PPPoE? What OS?
1)go to your network card properties and under the GENERAL tab click on configure
2) Next click on the Power Management tab and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
Hope this will be of help to you :)
Ya rizal has the right idea .. it has to do with power managment and hibernate. As long as your ethernet connection is active (AOL IM) it won't disconnect. Also you don't have to reboot to connect again, just goto a DOS window type ipconfig /renew (enter) and renew you IP address.
That setting isnt there so i couldnt change anything, what i did find out is even if im connected to irc chat overnight,
the next morning i check to see if the connection is working and irc seems to work but im not able to do anything else.
only way i can get the connection to stay up is leave aim up or it just drops the connection.very strange.anything else i can try rather than a format?
i tried yahoo messenger next and that wasnt able to keep my connection up either
