I have a toshiba pcx1000 could that be my prob

My connect been sucking ever since I got cable and they gave me a PCX1000, I was thinking of buying a sb4100 sound good?

I own a SB4100. It's a pretty stable and speedy modem. Can't really speak for other ones, the SB4100 is the only one I've ever owned.

I have optimum on line and I was getting around 340 -500
down. I went and got my self a PCX1100U and now when I
do the FTP down load test of a 64 Mb file, I get 1.6Mb
solid.
