I am using a wireless USB adaptor with a wireless router which is mainly for Internet surfing and gaming. The encry. is turn off, the router has been set only my wireless network adaptor (using MAC) can access it. My question is:

If I enter information on some secure website, such as online ordering, they are already using certain protection, if my encry (between the USB adaptor and router) is turn off, is it still safe?

If I'm not mistaken, the encrypt setting there is for the transmitted signal between the router & nic. The web browser itself is what determines encryption of transmited files.

Yep, TonyT is right.

The encryption options with your wireless router are meant to secure your LAN from outside eavesdropping. Having no encryption with your WAP will make it easier for someone to figure out what goes on with your wireless LAN by using a packet sniffer. Your web browser deploys its own SSL enhancement to protect the data you're submitting through it, when enabled by the remote computer you're accessing. I would recommend you enable at least 64-bit encryption with your WAP.
