Okay I know it has to be possible, I have had some of you explain to me how to do it but for some reason I just dont have the brains to forward ports on my router so I can have an FTP server or gaming or what ever LOL...My router a "3com 812"
Has so many features I dont understand I have been reading the help files and reading all posts here that I can find that has anything to do with this topic and still no luck.
I thought I would keep it simple for now and do and FTP server forwarding port 21 but still nothing :(
the two area's I have been messing with trying to do port forwarding is PAT and NAT..PAT seems to be what I need to make adjustments to because it has "Static Ports" that you can add which are TCP and UDP I went into both and they both have 3 area's to enter info first spot is (Public TCP Port) then (Private IP address) and then (Private TCP Port). The info I put in is (21, 192.168.200.1 and then 21 again.
This doesnt seem to work. the only other thing I am messing with is in the PAT area it has a section you can enter an IP in called (default work station) I have been trying putting my computers ip in that area (192.168.200.1 and also the LAN IP Address (192.168.200.254)
God I am lost LOL..Anyways after that completly long winded and confusing to myself story of what I am doing is there anyway to disable the firewall features of the router so I can just do what I want to do LOL let people connect to me? Any help would be great before I go plum mad LOL

Thank you,

Kingpin ;)
