IE 5.01 & Outlook express

I Have Win 2000 pro sp2- Installed and the default IE is 5.01 and I did not upgrade - When I use My e-mail and click on a link that was sent to me ( Like a Add) It will not open the link and it will put it on the tool bar at the bottom of the page and you have to click on the tool bar to open the link - is there a fix for this -
