i have been having trouble using hotmail since i installed XP. there is a post here somewhere from a week or so ago where i was asking about it. me, my wife nor my daughter can use hotmail from home. all 3 accounts work fine from other puters. all of a sudden, it started working about 4 days ago. i'm not sure what i did to correct it. then while using windows update, i got an error message saying that the update i was trying to install had failed because of my active X and scripting settings being wrong. it told me what to change so i did. i wish i had written them down but i didn't really think alot about it. afterall, i was doing what MS said - surely, that couldn't cause a problem:D anyway, since i made those changes, hotmail is back doing the same thing. we can all log in but once inside if you try to go to inbox or compose - puter locks up. have to ctrl+alt+del and terminate that app to get back out. the problem has to be with the way i have those settings. i reset all to default but it still does the same thing. does anyone have any ideas. could someone possible tell me how they have their activeX and scripting settings set-up.

i read about this same problem a while back before i had XP but i can't remember what the deal was. when ever i open a folder or something that has icons inside - it takes a few seconds for the icons to show up. i have a 1.2 t-bird & 768MB ram - i wouldn't expect to have lags like that. it even does it after a fresh restart.
if i remember correctly, i think EvilAjax was the one talking about it. i looked back but i can't find the thread. it may not have been him.
