I did as the last post reply said, now I have a windows user log on password window instead. I deleted all users (1) in control panel but the window still comes up every time. Just that now, it's not a network password, it's a windows log on password window.
What did I do wrong???? Sure would be nice to get rid of this thing!!!
I was kinda chuckling when I read the post. There was a missing instruction.
Ok here's what you need to do. Go back in and set it to network logon(humor me here). reboot the box. Now that you are back to network logon go back into network and change it back to windows logon then close network properties out....Now when it tells you to reboot say NO! Now go into control panel and open up users and passwords then go to the password tab, now if you have a password type it in the first box and leave the new and confirm boxs blank. click ok and reboot when it tells you to. You won't get a logon screen after that.
You laughing at me Sid?
In the first post it was mentioned that ALL users had been deleted. No need to take out a password, and it worked for the guy. Just goes to show that an answer for one problem isn't the right solution to another.
I'll forgive you this time Sid :D
I would never laugh at you Norm. I have run into this exact thing so many times and this is the only way you can get rid of it. The trick is to not reboot after changing back to windows login and then go into passwords even if there isn't one set.
Norm if you notice I changed my avatar. I didn't think the other one fit anymore. I have actually been sober for 10 days and have gave up booze completly.
I just went back and reread the post, no mention of deleting ALL users there. I coulda swore it said that, Oh well, maybe I read that somewhere else.
I read to much lol
I know Sid I was just clowning around as usual.
Gotta add humor once in a while or I'd go nuts hehe
Congrats on quitting the booze. You don't need it anyway.
I rarely drink myself. I did a lot of drinking and other things in my teens, early 20's and have no use for it anymore.
Just the odd glass of wine at big dinners like Xmas and Thanksgiving.
Thanks, been a hard 10 days. I considered myself as an alcoholic. By the way I blew it. Got to put a check mark where it says "all users of this computer use the same login" in the password control panel.
I hope you can lick it Sid, you're a real asset around here and I for one wouldn't want to see you gone.
Good luck to you in the fight. One day at a time.
If you ever need a friend, you know thier are lots of us here.
Ok, back to software issues :)
Once again you guys ROCK. I not going anywhere, you folks here are my friends indeed.
Next is to quit smoking. One battle at a time though.
Now if that don't fix the problem with the logon, when I get home I will set it up on my 98 system then remove it just to make sure I have not left anything out.
dan-a-medic's problem is solved.
Norm don't threaten me! I'll have to laugh at you somemore if you do:)
I don't threaten people Sid, I never have.
I like the surprize attack.
You came right out of left field with that, what's up?
Glad you got dan-a-medic's problem solved.
I'm outta wack today :)
I know Sid I was just clowning around as usual.
Just having some fun :) Damn, I feel GREAT:nod:
