Only getting 0.1kb/sec on IRC!

I fugred out how to download from IRC(using latest version of mIRC) but once my download started I ended up with 0.1k/sec! All other programs I am using download 67.2k/sec. is there a patch to fix this problem?

There is no patch to fix this, is this the download speed for everything in IRC? Or just one time?

If it only happened one time, it could be that someone capped their upload.

Remember also that you are limited to the upload capacity of the person you're connected to. If they are still using a 28.8 modem, well... you can imagine the speed they are running at, which is by no means the same as your broadband connection.
