i went to the nexland site you linked to in another thread.........

the router linked to above is KILLER

right now me and my roomie are splitting a 120 a month bill for hyperspeed dsl here 160k down 90k up

if we get 2 dsl lines here.......we have 2 phone lines already so that isnt an issue

we combine 2 accounts that get 80k down each and 40k up each........we lose 10k on the up but so what and is only 80 bucks a month

1 year hooked up like that and the router is paid for!

I have a 300 dollar kicka$$ Netopia router....but the Nexland ISB SOHO just struck my fancy, should arrive at my desktop on Wednesday.

I have 3 of them now, cost me around $1300.00:( but its still cheaper to shotgun 4 dsls then 1 sdsl line here:p 1meg upload and 5.2 megs down between all 4 , 7843ft from the co and loven it :D :D (4th time I have posted this picture:D )

your clients also get the benifit of the balanced connet too right?

they can d.load at 1meg like you said you were getting on upstream.

and when you run a site....or server.....what ip[ do you give to the client to get in?

You can tell them whatever ip you want them to connect to, clients do not get the benefit besides the fact that ,that connection is free or less congested you have more bandwidth because of the multiple connections but not more throughput (per ip) for a client to dl from one connection, another words you have morpheus or something running and somebody dl a mp3 from you on one ip somebody else can dl from the other without effecting the other clients dl\your upload but yet from same server.

Unfortunatly you cannot focus all your ips to one ip on the outside, they have to acces each one,example :you have a huge file you want somebody to dl, the only way is to split the file yourself then they can dl it off each of your connections the they can put it right back together (not possible on iso and many other files) meaning your upload is say 256 then it would be like this


20 meg file@server

/ \ 10megs upload@256/ ip 10megs upload@256/ ip
\ /
client dl 512kb

Just example
for web servers be like

Web site@server
url(pictures)upload256 ip----- homepage/etc upload256
\ /
client pings domain

The web page is complete on there end faster because the home page\etc is requested through one ip and the urls (pictures) are requested there by the home page\domain on the other ip so you loadbalanced the page to them faster.

When it comes to hosting games thats were the fun begins it takes extra computers to fully do all that correct.I will explain in a bit on that one.

effectively creating a 160k d.load and 80k upload connection

that what i wanted it for

i need to have the fast connect for uploading.

I am still curious about how game servers are set up to benifit from the balanced connect.

it simply balances the number of clients on each connection?
