Hi folks....
Wondering if anyone has tried or heard of this software.
Go here (https://www.marketscore.com/a/registration/profile.asp) to check it out.
I have NOT used it, just asking about it.
Thanks
I don't think I'll try it!
How does Marketscore achieve performance acceleration?
As a Marketscore member, your Internet traffic is routed through servers on the Marketscore Network. These servers perform a number of valuable services to enhance access speed. The actual process uses sophisticated, patent-pending technology that allows the following:
Faster connection to websites:
When you request a particular website, your browser must fetch an Internet (IP) address for that site. You will notice a message at the bottom of your page saying ' looking for website www.____'/. Normally, this can take a few valuable seconds before the address is found and your request is actually routed to the website. But with Marketscore, these addresses are stored in memory for sites already visited by other Marketscore members. By eliminating the address search your wait time is reduced.
Quicker web page downloads:
Using state-of-the-art data compression that goes well beyond that of a standard modem, Marketscore reduces the sheer volume of bits and bytes that are actually transmitted down to your machine.
Less time fetching static web pages and images:
Using caching techniques typically available to large businesses, Marketscore saves static content and images -- that is, content that doesn't change very often -- on local storage media. Therefore, when a request is received for that content, it is immediately downloaded, avoiding the delay of sending the request to the original website.
Improved response time:
Marketscore maintains high availability servers that instantly respond to your requests, rather than putting them in waiting queues as some overloaded web servers do. In addition, Marketscore optimizes connection settings to reduce delays due to communication "overhead."
That ain't happening on MY system! Yikes!! Scary stuff. I don't want my 'traffic' going through any more servers than it already does. This is like the way that a cable connection using a proxy server caches their information. Unless you hit the preferred, and cached site, you'll be much slower.
Big downturned digit to that stuff!!!!http://forums.speedguide.net/images/icons/icon13.gif
Plain simple answer-I don't trust em! Does not sound like a good thing regardless of their privacy policy. Nope, never heard of it before. :D

What information is collected?
During the initial registration process, we request certain information, such as name, address, e-mail address, and education, about you and other persons who live with you or have the same mailing address as you (collectively, we call this your "Household"). After you register, our network then collects additional information about your Household's Internet behavior and that of any other computers used by members of your Household that you have configured to use the Marketscore Network and service. This information is then combined with other Marketscore member data and other information to create an aggregate view of Internet e-commerce. Marketscore monitors your surfing, essentially logging information about the web pages that you visit and the actions that you take, such as the purchases and transactions you make. Marketscore can only monitor the Internet behavior and activity of your Household's registered and configured computers. As a Member, you therefore control which computers the Marketscore service is available on. Marketscore monitors both the normal web browsing you perform, and also the activity you may have through secure sessions, such as when filling a shopping basket or filling out an application form. Marketscore's proprietary and patent pending technology allows us to see the details of secure pages while protecting such content from parties other than the site to which you are connected. We monitor these connections so we can accurately and anonymously model not only the browsing habits of Internet users, but also their shopping, registration, and other interactions as well. Although we generally monitor your Internet behavior as part of this service, Marketscore does not examine, use nor keep any instant messages or examine, access or use the contents of any e-mail messages you might send.
How is the information collected?
When you register to be part of the Marketscore Network, we ask you for certain basic demographic information about you and your Household so we can better understand the Internet behavior you engage in. In addition to the anonymous monitoring we engage in, we may also supplement the information that you provide us with information that we obtain from third parties such as consumer preference reporting companies. In all cases, Marketscore does not allow any use of your name or personal information that we have for direct marketing purposes. To allow us to confidentially monitor your Internet activity, the registration process includes a step that configures your Internet browser and computer so that your Household's Internet communications are routed through our high-performance network. This routing is only done on the machines you actually configure for the Marketscore Network. The configuration process includes inserting a unique identifier into your browser that enables us to confidentially monitor your specific Household's Internet behavior. In addition, from time to time, we may ask you if you want to participate in Marketscore member surveys, which may be sent to you via e-mail or by other methods. Your participation in these surveys is entirely optional and not a condition of Marketscore Network membership.
Not on this system you don't!!! thanks for the offer though. LOL
