Hi ,
When I try to log on to some sites like Apple.com to watch some quicktime trailers, my browser pops up a window saying that
"This page provides potentially unsafe information on Active X control. Your current setting prohibits running control in this manner. As a result this page may not display correctly. "

I assume it is something about the active X settings. I have IE6 on WIN XP and my current security setting is medium (default). What should I do to fix this error?

Thanks.

I tried to set security level to medium-low and it still did not work. Then I tried low and it worked. Do you think I can keep it at low. What kind of problems can I encounter if i keep it at Low?

Ok i think I finally figured it out. In case someone can have the same problem I will say what I did.

Leave the security tab at medium (default). Go to Tools> Internet Options> Advanced.

Find "initialize and script Active X controls not marked as Safe"

and make it enabled.

That's what I did it and the problem solved.

IE 5.5SP2 and IE 6 no longer support Netscape-style plug-ins. QuickTime must now use ActiveX to work with those.
