i have the win95 upgrade cd ....wrote the key on it so i wouldnt lose it........ill be danged if it didnt get scratched to the point i couldnt read it *Cough*

Write to Microsoft and explain what happen. If you have regester it online before. They will send your key to you. GoodLuck! As far as useing someone else it will not work! GoodLuck!:)

Fart face It may work but I doubt it. Most upgrade copys only work with their own prouduct key. If you could burn your update to another cd and send it to him ,with the prouduct key he would proubly better off. As long as he dose not regester it. Their is away to find his prouduct key in his reg , but I can not remmeber the key. When I lost mine to my os. I found it there and copied it down. Send your key he may get lucky. But most of the time it dose not work. :(

Storm thats not exactly true. If you would have asked a month ago I would give you one(tossed old generic key codes).

I will write my freind and ask him for a generic code. If you don't want to wait call Microshaft.

Most I have tried at my shop won't work with out their own orginal code. I don't use 95, But some people do. I don't want it anyway Amplifrier Does, I have a mess of them. I could send him one but I doubt it would work. I have done a lot of upgrades for win 95 and if they don't have their own key most times it will not work. I have been working and building computers for 20 years now. he may get lucky as I point out with some one else. But I have never ran across this. Now with 98,98se I have been able to use different codes. If he wanted a 98se upgrade I have one I would send him that has never been used With code and all, Got it free from microsoft when ordering os disk for the shop I work for. I will see if I can find a full copy of win95 with a code if he is intrested. If you know a way around it let me know. I use win 2000. If you can get a code for him go ahead if not let me know and I will see what I can do. I also have a full version of win98 plus with key if he intrested. Email if you get a code for him. If not I will see what I can do. I can burn a copy of either if he is intrested. This just what I always ran across, Proubly because I use the original cd from the factory. I guess if you have generic codes you can do that. Just never check into into it never had to. Well let me know!;)
