no sound

I have no sound from my windows media player I have tryed to reload it but it still wont work . I know the sound card is good because I can play mp3 in winamp help!!!

have you tried to play an mp3 that you KNOW plays in winamp and then try it on MP?

and just to get it out of the way.........you do have the volume sliders up right?

in mediaplayer....when you play something.....by default there is a visualization that responds to what ever sound is being played through it.....do you see the visualisation respod at all?

Have you tried right clicking on a MP3 file and chosen Open With and then browsing to
c:\Windows Media Player and selectiong either
wmplayer.exe and/or mplayer2.exe? Is that the folder where you tried to run setup_wm.exe
