I uninstalled my Xirlink DVD Player or Decoder by accident, now I can't play DVD's in MediaPlayer. Anyway I can reinstall or redownload the DVD codec without buying another???

I'm running XP RC-2 PRO good till February till I can afford full version:( :(

doesn't media player automatically play's DVD's? I know mine does... www.tweakxp.com i know they have a tweak or something that enables the windows media player codec to play DVD's. or download one off the internet.....
can't you download your Xirlink from their website? or search on google....there's free ones, and other versions out there..

Yes it 'DID' but I believe it is linked to a third party codec or software called Xirlink that seems to be bundled with XP. There doesn't seem to be a download link at their website, and I had already thought to look through TweakXP and a few others including WMP update. I did delete it thinking it to be leftover files from previous WINME OS:( :( :( :( :(

I do appreciate the input, but there has to be a way to recapture it or a similar program or codec without paying or pirating....all that I have seen (so far) are pay sites.

It might not be called Xirlink, but whatever, I deleted it accidentally

Input Welcome:D

The InterActual player is only an interface for DVD's; it is not a software DVD decoder. You must have one installed, otherwise you will only be able to use the extra features on the DVD (you will not be able to play the movie). It should inform you if you do not have a compatible decoder installed.

You can pick up WinDVD 2000 for $9 at a local computer store.
