I am connecting to the Internet via @HOME service, using a Motorola SB4100 modem on a Windows 95 machine.

I am trying to connect now using a Windows 98 machine and although I matched all the IP properties, the machine does not see the modem.

Instead of obtaining an address via DHCP, winipcfg shows a 169..
type autoconfigured address. I tried to releasing, renewing, etc addresses and nothing works.

The settings are:
Obtain IP address
Disable DNS
Disable WINS
No gateway specified

Am I missing something?
Please help
Thanks
Maria

and if you are in dos prompt and type in "route print" without the quotes how many 1s show up on the right hand column??:) :( :o :D ;) :p

Thanks for your reply. The problem was that I had to change the machine's id to match the machine name assigned by @Home.
Now I can connect (although it might be for a short time if they cancel the service)
