Streaming Video Problems

Recently I've been having problems streaming videos from different sites and I can't figure out what the problem is.
For instance... I might be reading the NY Times online and I would click on a link to see a video on the headline and my real player would launch but I never get to see any videos.

Basically, the counter/timer keeps going from 0 t0 90 or something like that but there is no video (it's like i'm streaming a 10 second video).
This is what comes up on the play list: play.rbn[1].ram
I've even tried saving it to the desktop and then play but I get the same result.

Has anyone been experiencing this proble? If so, can you offer some advice?

Have you secured your browser? I mean altering the default options like scripting, etc? Could be that is just a corrupt file. Have you tried from different sites as well? Do you have ad-blocking software?
