OK, guys. Just so I don't seem like a newbie, I read through 6 pages of posts in this forum, and didn't find an answer to my question. I am running 2000 Advance Server on my main computer. I have one other computer that I am trying to share internet with. I have some others that I will set up, but I will get to that later. So here's the setup: I have DSL with SWBell, and I use Enternet300 to connect to the internet. Server has 2 NICS, both 100mb. One is connected to the external DSL modem, and the other is connected to Computer1 with a crossover cable. I want to use Routing and Remote Access to share my internet connection, but for some reason, it just won't work. To frustrate me more, I have gotten it to work before, and was messing with the settings and screwed it up (I know, I know). I just need some help. When I set up the R&RA, which network adapters should I specify where? I think this is my problem, but I'm not sure.

Bonus Question: If I get R&RA to work, will I be able to link NIC 2 into a hub and share my internet with several computers?

And just to clarify, I really don't want to use a router, or 3rd party software to share out my internet. I have the tools here, I've seen it work, so I don't feel that I should shell out the dough for redundant equipment.

Thank you guys so much in advance,
Xerobull

Why not just do this:
1) Right click on "My Network Places" -> Choose "Properties"
2) Right click on the icon representing the connection you want to share. For EnterNet it would be the "Efficient Networks PPPoE Adapter" adapter -> Choose "Properties"
3) Click on the "Sharing" tab
4) Check off "Enable Internet Connection Sharing for this Device"
5) Check off "Enable on-demand dialing"
6) Click "OK"
7) Make sure the other computers that will be sharing this connection are set to "Obtain an IP address automatically".

Windows 95, 98, ME
1) Go to "Network Neighborhood" ("My Network Places" in Windows ME) right click on the icon and choose "Properties"
2) On the "Configuration" tab select the TCP/IP stack bound to the Ethernet card connect to the other PC
3) Select "Properties"
4) Choose the "IP Address" tab and select "Obtain an IP address automatically"

Windows NT
1) Right click on "Network Neighborhood"
2) Choose "Properties"
3) Click the "Protocols" tab
4) Click on "TCP/IP Protocol"
5) Click on "Properties"
6) In the "Adapter" drop down menu choose the Ethernet card connected to the other PC
7) Select "Obtain an IP address automatically"

Windows 2000
1) Right click "My Network Places"
2) Choose "Properties"
3) Right click the "Local Area Connection" (Ethernet card) connected to the other PC
4) Choose "Properties"
5) Click the "General" Tab
6) Click the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
7) Click on "Properties"
8) Select "Obtain an IP address automatically"

Well, Bob Carrick, your advice helped, in a way. What I got stuck on was sharing PPPOE, or rather, I wasn't doing it. I shared it in R&RA, and it worked. Thank you so much!

So, anyone, even if I was using ICS, if I had a hub connected to my second NIC, could I connect multiple computers to it?

Thanks Agian!

Edit- Well, the hub worked for extra computers. Thanks again, Bob. I hope someone learned something from this.
