I have AT&T @home, into a Lynksys Router/Hub with 2 PC's attatched from a
Toshiba PCX1100 modem. I have been unable to download most files for about
2 weeks. THey download fine, the speed is great but when I try to unzip or
execute them I usually get a CRC error, sometimes it tells me I have
corrupted CAB file. If I try enough times, and the file is small enough I
can usually get a good download, but on the bigger stuff (over 3 mb, which
is very small) I can't get anything to work. I called AT&T tech support and
the 3rd level tech support person had never heard of a CRC error, and said
it was my operating system, even though it happens on two computer, one
win98 and one winXP both before and after a clean install of the operating
system.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

High CRC (Cyclical Redundance Check) errors usually point to
a bad modem, either at the CO (the ATU-C) or at the remote
(ATU-R). One thing you can do to test this is to unplug
your modem and plug it back in (recycle it) a couple of
times. Each time you do that (theoretically) you should train up to a different modem in the CO (unless the DSLAM is full).Look for big differences in CRC errors. Which means you hit a bad modem in the CO. To test your remote modem you could
ask your ISP to send a tech out with a modem and compare his
error rates with yours.
High RS (Reed Solomon) errors usually point to cable
problems. Although high CRC errors can cause high RS errors
also.

Try getting the latest frimware from the linksys web site. Also have you tried d/ling with out the route connected?. I remember a while ago some users had the same problem and they upgraded there firmware on the router and it corrected the problem.
