Hi. I hope someone can help me out. I have Direcpc one way satellite and was hoping there were some settings I could tweak with my computer to optimize the connection. I looked around speedguide home page but didnt see anything for my situation.
I probably missed it. Thanks.

Welcome to Speed Guide. Please take the SG TCP/IP Analyzer test located at the top of this forum. Copy and paste the results in a reply here in this thread. Please X out your IP address.

Thanks for the reply. I clicked the link for the "TCP/IP Anylizer" but the window that poped up had a "page cannot be displayed" message. Maybe server down, I'll keep trying and post my results.

be careful & back-up your reg. i use to have direcpc but i got dsl before i found speedguide. i have tried all kinda tweaks and settings and had good results. a good friend of mine still has direcpc and i told him about tweaking. everytime he tried to tweak his settings, direcpc quit working all together. he had to reinstall his dpc software to get back online. may be just something with his settings <i don't know>. just be careful. also, dslreports.com has a seperate forum for sat. internet <there are several>. i told my buddy about it but he was scared to try it:( :( :( so i don't know if their stuff works or not.
good luck.
if you try any that seem to work well for you let me know and i will tell my friend about it.
here, try this link (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/sat)

Very cool links and info. I seem to have pretty good speed, it varies during a download from 18 to 110kb/sec but seems to hold out at around 45kb/sec. Not too shabby. I did tweak my settings already with a utility from the site listed below.

I still am unable to run the speedtest on speedguide. I must have some internet settings messed up, I can recieve email but cant send out from my outbox. I look in to it, it must be why the test on this site doesnt work.
