Well.. For those of you who don’t know about http://www.langames.net/ they have made it simple to be able to play 5.2 again. Or 6.2, 4, 3.1, 2.1, and BETA 1 for that matter.

It’s all very simple, go to http://www.langames.net/ and download all the files necessary. But if you want me to further break it down a level or two for you I will.

Download HL Downgrader**

Then CS BETA 5.2

Also you could download CS BETA 6.2 (After you install it you must rename the folder in C:\1016\cstrikeb62 to C:\1016\cstrikeb61 to be able to play in servers.)

Next thing you need to do is update the Browser, to be able to get on a server, because you can not use won to connect.

And simply after you are done installing everything, go to your current cstrike directory (C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\cstrike) and copy your config.cfg and all your other configs that you have, and paste them into the correct mod version that you wish.

Note, this does not affect your current version of Half-Life, this will not interfere with being able to play current version of counter-strike.

I don't even have th current verion.. I've heard of the langames thingy long time back when cs was around beta 7 ... people were complaining like mad about what has changed..

I would play but it's not fun anymore.... u like cs rite? u should try ghost recon... I luv it..

Now, every 30 min or so on a populated server there's someone cheating. It's almost "NOT FUN" anymore when people cheat so much. Then they say, I use PB...PB was hacked a long time ago and them saying they use PB makes them look retarted. There need to be some consequences for cheaters, developers need to make a new way to detect cheating. Until then the 12yr old's with cheats, with no skill will 0wn the veterans of CS. It's sad...it really is.

Actually the new server anti-hack system "CSGuard" works better awesome. Finds basically every hack out there.
