Minir said it was a biggie in his post here (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57624)
Here is another addition to AVG's scanning capability.
Hilight the following set of extensions and rightclick "Copy" them.
Open AVG program (Not the Control Centre) and go to
Service>Complete Test Settings.
In the box that opens you will see an empty line where you can add extensions.
Click in that line>check for the curser and paste the extensions into the line.
This expands the number and types of files that AVG will scan. This list was the result of a huge thread at another forum.
The list
CPL;WIZ;PWZ;MDB;MPD;MPP;MPT;ACM;AX;CNV;CSC;MSO;OBD;OBT;PCI;TLB;TSP;WBK;WBT;WPC;VWP;MSG;AVB;MHT;MHTM; MHTML;NWS;CSS;VS?;CDR;GMS;WPD;DVB;CPT;SHW;QPW;EML;SHB;ADE;ADP;BAS;CRT;INS;ISP;MDE;MSC;MSP;MSI;MSP;MS T;PCD;SCT;REG;URL;WSF;VS?;WSC;ZM?;ZL*;
The end
Hope this can be used by some of you.
Croc.
Thanks for this my friend
Do you have the full retail version or the "free" version?
I have the "free" version and it will not accept "ALL" the extensions. It seems to have a limit. I could only paste from "CPL to MHTM", that is the first two lines.
But that is good to know.
Thanks Croc
Free only. I tripped over the website one day about 2 years ago and never looked back. InnoculateIT is there too but AVG grabs everything soooo quickly.
I am waiting on some info from Grisoft before I commit to buying the paid version. That is taking time.
Try copying the extensions again and paste them into Notepad. Then check to see if there are any spaces either between the extension type or the ;
There should be NO gaps. It may be the way the board accepted the list when I posted it.
If that is the case then close the gaps , remove the list in AVG and replace it with the Notepad copy.
The list is more comprehensive (I believe) than the option of scanning all files already there.
Good to see another happy AVG user.
Croc.
Hey Croc
Thanks ...I will try that as soon as I get home later.

Croc on AVG thanks for the heads up:D
Got it
Thanks Croc..... the extensions must be a string, one line.
Thanks my friend

Hi Croc
Thanks for the Heads Up Croc, It's appreciated
regards
minir
When I loaded them into the line in AVG I found that copy/paste would only apply one line at a time.
The extensions are divided only by the semi colon between them without gaps. If there is a gap it may not accept.
This addition of extensions does not mean that those file extensions will be checked in the "RealTime" scanning. They will only apply when used as part of a scheduled or manual scan.
The files that are scanned in "RealTime" or "Resident Shield" are only a few and cannot be added to.
Thanks for the interest here guys. Great to see AVG has such a distinguished SG following. No, I don't work for Grisoft. I just like the program and trust it.
Croc.
You expect us to believe that...you don't work for Grisoft?
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!
Just kidding pal......I couldn't resist  :p
