anyone have any positive or negative feedback on the Norton Internet Security 2002 programs?
It contains Norton AV, Firewall, Privacy, and Parental Control programs.
I've never bought a Symantec (Norton) product before and would like to hear some comments. Thanks in advance.

I have a different program, System Works 2002, which has AV and Firewall included. Firewall is good, but in all honesty is a little unnecessary if you are just looking for a basic firewall. Then I would go with ZoneAlarm.
The AV piece of Norton is awesome. Easy to configure and has saved my a** a couple of times.
Thought I could at least give you feedback on those two apps.

I use Norton Antivirus 2002 and it is a great program. Very easy to configure, and it can be set to automatically update your virus defs if your online. So I never have to worry about updating them. I dont use their firewall so I cant give you feedback on that one.

Thanks for the comments. I think I'll give Norton a try. Seems like no one has anything bad to say about it. Thanks again.
I've always had something bad to say about Norton products. In the past they have caused havoc whenever I tried them. Early Norton products were great, then for some odd reason Norton put out some wacky programs that caused problems with other installed software, and were hard to uninstall completely, leaving traces that cuased errors on bootup.
I haven't tried 2002, so I can't really say much on it except that from what I read in these forums, it's a pretty good product.
I guess Norton has got back to the way thier products used to be..... 'top notch'

Agreed...I was very hesitant to try the 2002 product line but will say they are much "friendlier" to my PC than the versions from a couple of years ago.

I use Norton Internet Security 2002 and think it's great, it's much more user friendly than 2001. I like it better than just a firewall because u can block ads on web pages, pop up windows and blocks browser referers. There were some issues with it when it was first released, but the latest patches have fixed it. There are alot of different firewalls, but the extra features of Norton make it even better. Good Luck!
the 2002 antivirus version of Norton has definitely in my opinion gotten better then some of their previous versions. doesn't seem to hog as much resources as some of the past versions have either.
