we sometimes have a problem at work of people stealing coworkers' ideas (if you want the truth, i think the problem is actually people thinking their idea was stolen rather than it actually being so) and putting their own name on them. this appens a lot between the engineering dept. and the production dept.

anyways, my boss keeps bugging me about this and wants to know if there is a good way of signing his name to it in a way that cant be edited. sort of like compiling code. i told him to just take a screen shot, convert it to .jpeg and insert a watermark of some kind. he said he wants to be able to edit it whenever he wants without re-entering the data. i suppose the easiest solution would be for him to just keep his own work to himself on floppy or whatever and only submit .jpegs or .bmps.... this would be against company policy though (unless he did it at home on his own time and computer. dont think he wants to do that either, though).

are there any methods or apps or even a simple solution i have overlooked? mind you, i am not an "Office" guy..... or even a software guy for that matter, so it wouldnt surprise me if there's something within the app or suite to enable this.

any help is appreciated.

Hi S,
I don't think this is what u want to hear but if u install say word with your bosses name in the space that it says who's it registered to, it digitally signs it, try it out, make a document and then in ..even explorer u u move the mouse of it and it says who's it from... but it only works if they change somethings.. if they cut and paste the hole doc.. well it doesn't work...sorry...
