Release and renew in win2000 pro?

My static IP has been taken away and i've been forced to DHCP. (@home cable) I leave my server on 24/7 (Don't even think about it Paft;)) and sometimes it takes a reboot to get surfing again. I never had that trouble with my static ip.

So am I barking up the wrong tree with the release and renew or am I on the wrong track.

goto start>run>cmd

in the command prompt type "ipconfig -?" without the quotes and it'll tell you all the commands there
