IM THINKIN OF BUYING AN ATLON 1800 XP, AND USING MY OLD MONITOR WITH IT. THE MONITOR CAME WITH MY HP 8668C WITH A 650MHZ P3. THE MONITOR IS 17". IM WONDERING IF IT WILL BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE 64MB SDR NVIDIA GF2 MX400 W/TV OUT. IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN FIND OUT?

IF IT WONT WORK WITH THAT MONITOR, WHICH 17" IS COMPATIBLE AT A CHEAP PRICE?

ALSO, WHAT IS THE BEST PUTER FOR GAMING? I HEAR UPPER END ATHLON IS BETTER THAN P4, ANY OPINIONS? ANY OTHER PUTERS BETTER FOR GAMING THAN ATHLON OR P4.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSES!

Try turning the caps lock off next time

For your 1st question: Any monitor is compatible with any vid card as long as the monitor supports the refresh rate and colors.

2nd question: Athlons are OF COURSE better than P4's. This is due to the fact that P4's have a sluggish IPC and have to clock the chips higher to be comparable to Athlon's, which makes the price go up.

Bottom Line: Go w/ the Athlon.
