Post your results from the analyzer. Oh ya… remove your IP number before you post the results.

here are thew results what do you think
TCP options string = 020405a60103030201010402
MTU = 1486
MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput.
MSS = 1446
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1446, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 254496
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 63624
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
508992 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
127248 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63624 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10179.84 kbps (1272.48 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4071.936 kbps (508.992 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = OFF
Time to live left = 51 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Good job. Your MTU is not 1492 (just take a peek at your results. They say it is 1486). Perhaps your patch is not in???

i have reinstalled the patch but i dont think it changes the mtu.i have read how to change the mtu and did and then restarted but still shows up as 1486 do you know how or where to change this i have checked every where that i know but there must be some where else if it keeps reporting 1486 any help would be nice thanx in advance

I'm not a DSL guy so the help I can give you is limited. Evil is "the man" when it comes to DSL. Not sure if he's around right now but you can read some of the posts from today and last month and see if you can read something that will apply to you.
Good Luck!

Are we behind a router? I think that was my MTU before I upgraded firmware on my Linksys 4-port

exact thing here ..haven't you heard? DSL connections (PPPoE) can only be optimized up to 1492 i read it somewhere , it is impossible to get it over 1492....

Download TCPOptimizer and choose DSL PPPoE and see if it changes your MTU.:) ;)

RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Timestamps (RFC1323) = ON
Note: Timestamps add 12 bytes to the TCP header of each packet, reducing the space available for useful data.
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
:)
Time stamps need to be off, whose patch or patches
If you need help please click on profile in one of your posts and fill in so we know what you have, thanks, it's alot easier to click on profile for me to see where your from, OS, system specs to help me help you, thanks again
