This Line Quality Test was taken this morning at midnight. (http://www.dslreports.com/quality/nil/570132) Here's Another Quality Test taken during the daytime. (http://www.dslreports.com/quality/nil/569518) With computers coming down in prices, and Roadrunner service being so cheap at $30 per month if you own the modem, and the city being very boring, no wonder everyone is getting a computer in this area. Ok, I have a Toshiba PCX1000, and a DLink DFE530TX+ network card, and the drivers are updated. I have changed network cables, changed cables from the splitter to the modem, etc. Everything is connected tight. A Cox rep told me it was the cable from the pole to the modem causing the packet loss. Is this true? What is the problem? I have this thread also at DSLReports' RR forum, but no one didn't answer me. So, no one answers me, and I decide to come here, of this friendly forum full of helpful people;)

Set the computer performance at network server, desktop, it doesn't do any good. Can anyone helped me out here? I have called tech. support, which is Tier 1, and I feel I like I'm talking to morons. They tell me everything is fine, but everything isn't and I have the two urls to proof it. In the daytime time, I can't even use the computer. During peak time, I can't use the computer, because everything downloads slow. I have to watch boring and sad tv until 12am and later. Is the network card the problem, the cable modem, or is it the computer? The computer specs are in my sig. It's not the computer, I have RR on this computer for 2 yrs, and no problems. Is it the network card, it's only a month old, and that's not it. Is it the cable modem, should I get a Surfboard SB4100? Any answer can help me out.

Thanks,

Helen

Well.. It sure seems like a network outage to me. I can't even ping some of the hops that show up in your graphs.

Welcome to Speedguide!

The traceroutes you posted do not show any packet loss associated with you. The packet loss they show is out on the internet beyond your ISP.

Do you have some other reason for believing you have packet loss, or some other problem?

The problem is fixed. It seems my ISP was having problems on their end. I took a line quality test (http://www.dslreports.com/quality/nil/572431
) this morning at 7:37 and it's fixed. Here's a tweak test (http://monitor.dslreports.com/tweak/block:13e3cde?service=cable&speed=3000&os=win98SE&via=normal) that was taken right at 11:56pm. I was having slow browsing problems and now I don't anymore.
