Does anyone have any experience with comcast @ home cable internet and win xp. The comcast website says if you upgrade you can just about bet on losing your connectivity and perhaps the win2000 drivers for the modem will work, while at the same time acknowledging that many people will be upgrading to the new os. I have done the upgrade but also want to sign up for the comcast and am looking for any experiences more concrete that what is on the website..
thanks

if you use a NIC and not the USB (direct connect or converter) then as long as your NIC has XP drivers there should be no other issues with cable modem service except you will need to know how to configure XP until they support it and the usual new windows release problems
:p :D     :rotfl:
Window's xp and comcast @home work great together. Don't worry about drivers...all the drivers for our nic's and usb's are on the @home CD and they should work for xp.
The only issues that I've ran into with our customers here has involved usb adapters and the drivers. XP seems to have a pretty good handle with drivers for pci nics, but a couple of usb adapters I have to load drivers in to get them up and running again.
Part of the lost connection issue that I've seen with people who have upgraded to XP that are on our service is the fact that they go in and change the computer name during the upgrade causing their connection to drop. I've had to re-enter computer names about a half a dozen times this last week alone...
