when starting IE or outlook express in XP it works fine but Netscape, ftp programs and icq won't Autoconnect unless I'm already connected.
I'm using raspppoe and I've tried everything and I can't find the setting as in win98se to let other programs use this connection
TIA for any hints solutions or Rants that will make me feel better :D LOL

In IE, do you have "Always Dial a Connection" enabled?
Why don't you just have RASPPPoE auto-connect when you boot up? It will be easier and you wont have to worrry about programs not triggering the auto-connection.
If you want to auto-connect at startup, try the PPPoE Help Guide link in my signature. Read the "Allways On" part :)
Let me know if you're having any trouble.

thankz but in xp its a no go with raspppoe too
but using a shortcut in the startmenu works fine with XPpppoe
as tests go there is hardly any difference between 1480 and 1492 MTU besides raspppoe crashs sometimes (at least for me it does)
I guess this is just one more trick for microsoft to stop installing netscape (and they say they're harmless)
just one ? Isn't it possible to make xp think that the dsl modem is a network/lan dus connecting as windows would to a local network?
