I Just set up my network. P3 1Ghz to a P2 333Mhz Laptop. NetGear DS104 Hub. Anyway everything works good so far, by that I mean I can see files on the other computer and what not, but my laptop keeps freezing ALL the time. I try to transfer files to my laptop and it freezes. In the past 4 days it must have had to be turned off manually 90 times. Any ideas why my laptop keeps freezing, and what I can do to fix it.

Thanks in advance.

Can be a lot of things, but here's a couple off the top of my head:

Has this ever had a prior network card installed? If so, was it removed properly/completely? You can double check by booting into safe mode and looking in Device Manager.

Latest drivers for your laptops network card? Or the old ones that came in the box?

Which protocols are you running on your network? For small ones (under 50), NetBEUI is generally best.

Have you run all your windows updates on both machines? A lot of important system files are updated with fresh ones doing so...including some core networking files.

Large file transfers can hit your memory pretty hard, laptops are known for coming from the factory with 8 trillion things running in the background, loading up in your system tray. Have you gone shutting some things off? Also, real time file scanning on many anti-virus programs can hammer older machines like this.

Emtpy out your Windows\Temp directory.

Well I removed all the old drivers that came with the laptop. I have NetBEUI Installed, and there's another thing that might be making it do it, but I don't know if this would cause a problem. On this computer I'm running Windows ME, and on the laptop I'm running Windows 95. Could that be a problem too?

Thanks~!
