Thanks for your effort. But it has been tried before and it doesn't work. The only way *known* to change your MTU size while on a PPPoE connection for Windows XP is by using RASPPPoE. A flawless PPPoE client.
As Evil said, we have known about this a long time and DOES NOT work:)

:rotfl:
Yeah I noticed that too :D
Oh well I thought MS was fast addressing the matter but with a useless solution at best
(As we should be surprised by that)
the reg entry they're talking about doesn't even exist in my registry LoL

According to this person It does and I quote
"How to Change the PPPoE MTU Size" http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q283/1/65.ASP does work.
You have to create the key as described. If no key is present, the default value of 1480 is used. There is no TCP MSS setting in Windows.
"Diagnoses and Treatment of Black Hole Routers (Q159211)" http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q159/2/11.ASP describes how to test the adapter MTU settings to make sure that the value you are setting is correct. The ping procedure described in another KB article is wrong and that procedure should not be used.

It does not work. The PPPoE engineers at MS have confirmed this for me, I've gotten two people out of all that have tried it, say it does though they will not respond back to post any factual evidence.
