You must mean compress your registry, am I correct? You can do it on Win9x/ME machines, but you can't do it on a Win2K/XP machine, at least not with the Reg utilities that I have used, they always say that the feature cannot be performed on a Win2k/XP machine.
i've seen lobo refer to DEFRAGMENTING his registry in the tweaking forum several times. i never thought much about it but the other day i heard someone else mention it too so i was just curious.....
maybe they were refering to compressing it - not sure.....

Your registry is compromised of 2 files, so just like any other file, when you defragment your HD, the Registry files will also be defragged. Compressing the reg is a different process, when you compress the reg, the obsolete values in the registry are removed and the registry is compressed for better performance.
