Cable Modem and watch cable tv?

hey, i have att@home cable right now. i don't have cable but i heard that i can watch cable television from my exisiting cable modem service. is this true, if so how can i do this? they told me i had to get a cable splitter. but here's the thing, i brought my existing tv or to where the cable modem was, then i juts plugged in the cable line into my tv from the wall cable jack. and nothing happened. is it because i NEED a splitter or is this not true? thanks.

You'd have to pay for the cable tv if you want watch it. :D

A splitter is needed if you're going to use the cable for internet AND tv(s). I have a splitter (1 to 3) for my house.

I think your cable that's for the modem is for modem only. I'm not cable expert but you paid for cable internet service, so you're getting cable internet service and not TV along with it.

You could at one time do that but now there are traps to block out the tv signal .If you want video also then you are going to have to order it.:)

What you are really ask is this,"how can I steal something I am not paying for?"
It appears this is a growing trend as we see many posts on this topic.

:confused: You might not know but you can go to jail or have a very big fine for stealing cable service. As a VP for a cable, internet, & telephone company we can & do charge people who do this.
If you want cable tv then pay for it!!

I had digital cable and cable internet from Time warner. But yesterday I cancelled digital cable but kept the cable internet. so the guy today, picked up the box and put a filter on my line so i can get cable tv. but he never made sure it works. only 20 out of the 60 something channels were not clear. hmmmm. so i thought why not see all of them clear so i went to the box in my backyard and took that filter off. now i have basic cable not digital (no box)

go ahead and thief your cable TV. Just let us know when they show up with the sheriffs department to take all your equipment,and everthing that is connected. So if your stereo,computer,playstation,or anything else that is connected it will be going BYE BYE...:rotfl:
