After tunning my system with your help, I have found the following:
(I use AnalogXNetStat Live V2.11 for speed measurements)
When I'm reading newsgroups (nntp) the speed is about 250 Kb/s
When I'm surfing the web (http) the speed is very variable (25..80 Kb/s).
When I download a file (even the test file from my ISP) the speed is 3 Kb/s.
I'm not used to DOS network related commands, but under DOS I used NETSTAT (DOS-not theone from AnalogX) and under local address I have several ports connected with the foreign address ports 119 and 80 but only one in port 21.
I also have the following: 4 ports with local adress 0.0.0.0:1592;
0.0.0.0:1593;0.0.0.0:1594;0.0.0.0:1595 all connected to foreign address 0.0.0.0:0 status listening.
and two under PROTO UDP connected to foreign address: *.* (no status).
What can I do to improve my FTP connection?
Please Help
Thanks
