God, I love this....I hated fighting with Verizon about Winpoet. I have been previewing Windows XP and had to use my dial up when I was booting to it because WinPoet is incompatible with XP. This is a lifesaver!!! Thank you again.

PPPoE is native in Windows XP, so you don't need any software.

1) Create a new connection
2) Choose Connect to Internet
3) Create Manually (option 2)
4) Connect Using Broadband Connection that requires a username and password
5) Give it a name (IE: DSL)
6) Put in your name and password (Don't forget to add your ISP's domain as part of your userid, IE: for Verizon it is userid@verizon.net)
7) Right click and choose properties for that new connection
8) Empty entry in Service name to let it use Wan PPPoE
9) Go to Networking Folder, choose Internet Protocol TCP/IP
10) Choose Properties - Make sure everything is auto assigned

For an "always on" connection in Windows 2000/XP and RASPPPoE do this.
1. Right click My Network Places and select [/b]Properties[/b] from the drop-down menu. This will open a new window, Network Connections
2. Right click your connection and select Create Copy from the drop-down menu.
3. Drag the copy out onto the desktop.
4. Close the Network Connections window.
5. Drag the copy down to the Start menu and make your way up Programs, Startup and drop it in there.
Note: If you can't drop it in start up or if you're having a hard time. Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and paste the copy there.
6. Make sure you have your username and password saved, and all prompts unchecked. (Right click your connection in Network Connections and select Properties. This is all in the Options tab.)
7. Now when you start up your computer, it should automatically connect everytime in less than one second. Without you even knowing it. That's a PPPoE XP Always On Connection. :)
