I have ATT Broadband, I have two comps linked using Linksys, I can use the cable when it is setup directly into one of the PC's but through the router i am having problems establishing a connection. I am new to the networking thing. I have been told just to get my MAC address from my NIC card and enter it into the Linksys and enable DHCP on both the PC and the router then shut everything down and bring it back up in the order of Modem,Router,Computer and all should be working fine, it doesn't, any suggestions form more knowledgable guru's out there ?

I am having the same problem, and have tried everything under the sun or moon to solve the problem. I'm not sure about NAT and single user accounts that might be causing the trouble. All we are supposed to do is enter the computer name and set IP for auto and maybe do some changes to the Network settings for TCP/IP.
I hope someone can help soon!

First thing to do is what was originally suggested. Transfer the MAC address from the original computer connected to AT&T Broadband into the Linksys' configuration. Since AT&T registers your connection by MAC address, changing the NIC also changes the MAC and renders your connection useless. As far as the other setup options on the Linksys you would enter the static IP assigned to you by AT&T or set the router to obtain one from AT&T dynamically, depending on your service. Make sure you have the appropriate DNS entries and hostnames if required.
After making the MAC address changes you need to enable DHCP in the Linksys configuration. For each of the machines connected to the router in the TCP/IP settings you will want to set them to obtain an IP address by DHCP and make sure that your default gateway is set for the address of the Linksys, by default it is 192.168.1.1
These are the only settings you need to setup for TCP/IP on each machine connected.
