please help me
i did post in the other forum butr no one there could help
is there any one in here to help this lil lost soul :(
I am assuming that you don't have PPPoE, no? If not, Download Cablenut From my sig below, install, reboot, and reinstall the SG patches, since Cablenut wipes out all the previous tweaks. Read through the Help thread too.:)
hi there
i just been into cable nut
i changed the rwin to one off the recomended numbers but when i ran the test again it didnt recognise the new settin it came up with the lod 1 and said if this number is not the same then install this and give me a link , i did this but i still got the same number come up with the same link to install
do u think that there is room for improvment on this result any way ,, oh and thanks for the reply i have been sittin here hopin it was you to reply ,,:)
oh and it is pppoe conection but i dont no what that means cos i am new to this
also in cable nut i put the win 9x fast settins in but it did not make a difference so i went bak to defult then re installed the patch from the tweek site ,, god this is worrying ,, still i am persistant :2cool:
Glad to help another human being out.(Unless you are an alien..;) ) Is the number 65535? If so, download the vtcp.386 fix from the SG Tweaks page below in my sig. If it's not 65535, it may be Proxies acting up. Read this article to see how to get rid of it.
http://www.unknownregion.f2s.com/Proxy_Server.rtf
HTH..
the defult rcv mindow in cable nut says 255552
the max mtu is 1492 ,, not sur what this means but does this help
so that last pic up above is the same settins as cable nut
now where do i go from here
Good. Do you have to log in to go on the Internet? If so, you are on PPPoE. The MTU is supposed to be 1492, So you are okay there. Can you tell me if your MSS is 1452? Also, have you read the post that I posted above?:)
hello yes i did read that but i got a bit confused does that apply to me oh and in the mms there is no settins it is blank tks for the help
Post the Test results here and let me have a look.:)
u aint goin to believ this but i read that link so i thaught i would try that proxy now i cant get rid ov it ,, i un check it but on my test it is showing the proxy ip address
hold on ill post it

Marketscore? If so, you need to go to their website, and uncofigure your browser.:)
Also need some feedback on the article.. just wrote that one not too long ago. Was it useful? Too much junk? Bad spelling? Thanks in advance.:)
and its in the use auto configuration script in the address box
but i uchecked it but it still wont go to my ip any idaes on this lol
sry to be a pain but i thaught it would let me use or unuse the proxy not be stuck there 4 ever oops
i cant remove the bloody thing it keeps comin up with there server ip wtf is goin on would it be in my registry if i use my reg i saved an hour ago would this remove there ip
It's not going to be stuck there forever if you are using Marketscore. Simply clean all the boxes. Reboot, and it will come up with a box saying do you want to keep or remove marketscore. Remove, and reboot again.:)
hmmm i wish that was the case
i unchecked the boxes , i deleeted the address in the address box ,, i went to advanced and unchecked http through proxy server ,, hit apply , re booted but it was all back again with boxes checked,, so i unchecked them and ran the test again but it still has the proxy ip ,, i looked on there site but there was nothing to help me to remove the thing it just says get more people to join ,, i sent them an email but no reply ,, what a pain eh ,, any way where were we lol:o
Sorry that i am causing you trouble...:o
go to www.marketscore.com top right hand corner. members, log in, modifiy or remove services, follow through.:)

not very clear but u can see it ,does this look right

You can try RWIN's of 31944 or 63888 to see if it's better:)
hi lobo
do you think that the max mms should have a setting in the box, and also what do i do just remove the number thats in the box and then type in another and seve to reg is that it ,, thanks for your reply m8`s
ps if u look at the post on page 1 it says rwin =63888 but its is not optimised ,, what do u think ,, thanks :2cool:
Try RWINs of 51100, 64240 or 256960:)
ok i got this optimised now but openin web pages seems to be a bit slower now for some reason ,, do u think that if i try the other settings it might improve things ,, what do u think,,,,,
http://wsphotofews.excite.com/035/GU/ZL/pT/2W47261.jpg :p
ok i put rwin up to 513920 and this is what i get now ,, please can u explane how this improves things as i am a bit green in this department :)

This is DSL right and I don't know, try 578160 as RWIN
for some reason it takes ages to download images i ran this test a fwe times but look what im gettin
http://wsphotofews.excite.com/001/bA/s9/7g/VZ55358.jpg
any ideas on what is goin wrong lobo,,,
Go back to 513920 then:) or 487640
well im goin to try the number u just gave me ,, 578160 ill let u no brb

ok it seems ok but because the settings are higher does that mean a faster conection ,, there seems to be a lot more kBites is this corect ,, and do u no ov a way to improve the latence conection in online games ,, or will these settingsd make that better anyway ,,, thanks for your help guys :D
also my unscaled recieve window has now droped from 63888 to the figure in the last test post what does that mean ,, i am lernin i am :(
so do you think that my conection is ok now or can it b pushed any more ,, thanks for looking
Unless you are on ME, you can try the system.ini and Crazyman tweak below.
no 98 se ill try it ,, oh and im using a ping test and my modem is pingin @ 170 kbps to 250 kbps and it is spose to be 500 kbps i dont no if this helps ,, did u look at the settins in that cable nut and are they lookin ok do you think ,, thanks for your help ,, kempo:)
ok ive done most ov that now apart from that ini file tweek it looks to intence
so how will these new settings make a difference and what will they do for my conection ,,
just a few words to explane this will be most apreciated ,, thanks for all the help ,,,,,,,,,,,,
Unless you really, really know what you are doing, leave the RAMDRIVE thing be:)
oh dont worry that is left alone lol
i got a question
in my cablenut my mtu comes up as 1492
but in my test it comes up as 1500 what gives
any idea cos i ran a test on another link from and it said lower mtu to 1492 but it says that on cable nut
any ideas please
thanks for the responce ,, i would love to get this thing runnin sweet and im nerly there
;)
pritty please with sugar on :rotfl:
MTU 1492 means your on PPPoE connection, call ISP and ask
PPPoE you have to log on with name and password.
PPPoE ( Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet ) is a method for building PPP sessions and encapsulating packets, as described in RFC2516. Although it is not a standard, PPPoE is already being used by a number of DSL providers. It requires either routers that have built-in PPPoE support, or PPPoE software to "dial up" and establish the session. You have to log on with name and password everytime you access net with PPPoE.
