Interesting. I saw that page the other day, but did not realize it was the replacement page for their "MTU hack". I'm still trying to get answers from MS on wether or not their is an actual hack for the PPPoE MTU size.

1492 is optimal for most people, but with 1480 you would not notice a difference in speed. Though I've seen one case where 1480 was not low enough for someone. That is really where the problem could end up.

Bob Carrick !!!!!!

didnt realise it was you...... Hey good web site but dint find very much info on ping or latency problem. And Navas Cable Modem/DSL Tuning Guide ( http://cable-dsl.home.att.net/ ) is a bit weird. They dont believe in rwin as multiple of MSS and some others things. What do you think of that ??

I don't really get involved in tweaks much. I let the guys in here look after those things. With PPPoE that takes up all my time, I have people ask me all sorts of questions not related to PPPoE on my forums or by e-mail etc and I wish I could answer everything, but I don't know everything unfortuantly. Run the tweak test from this site and use one of the patches, hopefully that will help.
