Can't see others on the network....

Ok, I am running Windows XP Pro build 2600, I can't see any computers on my network in the same workgroup that aren't running windows XP, unless they are on my 4 port router switch. I have tried 2 different HUB's and another switch without a router built in. What could be the source of this problem, and how would I go about solving this? thanx all.

try typing \\COMPUTERNAME in Explorer

Smidley is on vacation for the weekend...He asked me to check on this for him....were havin a lan party on sunday night since we dont have skool on monday...me and him use XP and it werkz fine but some ppl commin r runnin 98 and it would suck if we cant seem them..
