i'm trying to connect 2 pc's usind a crossover cable......i'm running the Direct cable connection wizard but it isn't working.....HELP!!!!!!!!

You have green lights on both cards? You have both computers with the same workgroup name? You have file and print sharing enabled?With that you should be able to at least see the other PC.From there you can share drives,folders,etc...

Direct Cable Connection is for null modem cables, through a 9-pin serial null modem cable, or a null modem parallel cable like the yellow one that came with PcAnywhere boxes prior to version 9.2.

You mention a crossover cable...generally that term is used for a RJ-45 ethernet cable with different wiring inside, meaning you are using standard NICs, meaning you will use standard Client for MS, the NIC, standard protocols like NetBEUI, or TCP/IP, a the standard F&P Sharing for MS service. Treat it just like you were using a hub.
