Hm...never had this happen, but I can't clear my history folder through IE (5.5).

I can delete it manually, but when I go to "Clear History", it does nothing, and ends up locking up.

ANY clue what's up with this?

Have you tried repairing IE.

msinfo32/tools/ie repair tool

Never done it before, so can you be a little more specific on how to repair IE?

Either go from Add/Remove programs> IE 5.5 and internet tools> click as if you were going to remove it and in the pop screen, choose Repair IE.

Or go to run>type in msinfo32>select the tool tab> in the drop down menu choose IE repair tool>select Repair IE radio button and click OK.

The rest is automatic and will require a reboot.

Haha, I always feel like such a newbie when I have to ask such a seemingly obvious question. :p

Thanks though. :)

Your history folder was corrupted & the IE repair worked, but next time just deltree the History folder in DOS & windows will crerate a new one at next reboot.

And now that has been fixed you could go to this site (http://www.fsm.nl/ward/) and d/load a very small cleaner called Spider that will do that for you and clear all Index.dat + cookies history as well. Not just the visible lists, the record of all your hmmmmm habits. ;)
Read the info at the page first to see if you can use it.

Croc.

:rotfl: I was referring to BigJim. Just kidding of course.
I assumed you would know what I meant Jim. Since you rarely ask questions, I figured you were a non - newb and my less detailed answer would be enough for you.

Just a crazy Canadian having some fun :)
