I applied the latest firmware patch 28 Sep 01. The patch said it applied successfully, but since that time, I have not been able to access my connection. When I go to the default 192.168.1.1 to look at the setting, I get no response. I have tried turning off power and pressing the front panel reset, but still no response from the router. Any suggestions?

Run winipcfg on your workstation....make sure the router is at least getting it's DHCP service up and running to assign your computer an IP address. If you get an IP such as 192.168.1.100....then your router is doing that much. Anything else outside the 192.168.1.XXX scope....then naturally you will not be able to hit the router. You must then manually specify your IP, like 192.168.1.2 with 255.255.255.0 subnet....reboot, then try to log onto the router. I've done like 80 of those Linksys routers....haven't had a firmware upgrade blow up on me yet, although not my favorite router, it's the easiest one to firmware upgrade. I've had oine NetGear out of a dozen blow up on me with a firmware upgrade, once they blow up that way, pretty much a paperweight.
