I finally have it.
1- What do I need to know before proceeding?
2- Will my Win2000 drivers work (Im currently running Win2000Pro)?
3- Is it possible to dual boot Win2000 and WinXP?
4- Im assuming that its impossible to add a partition to an NTFS drive. Is this true? If not, how can it be done?
I wanna install this thing and my computer doesnt work.
Help please.

Hi! Welcome to the land of XP! I really think you'll like it better then win2k PRO, at least I did. Now, I am not a computer expert. However, I have installed winXP in my computer 10 differant times. That's ten times I've reformated and reinstalled, so I think I know the installation pretty well.
First, some things you should know. If you have any isa devices, they will not work in winxp. So, what's the secert to a great winXP install? NOTHING!! The first 9 times I installed winXP, I tried to do too much. I wanted a perfect install, so I would start over if I mixed something up or if I wasnt happy with a driver. On this last install, I just installed and left it. It has all the newest via and video drivers, including directx. In fact, the only thing I had to do was install NAV 2002, tiny firewall, and my soundcard drivers. There are some things you might want to turn off before you plug your nic back in if you have a cable modem. Here are some things I do:
1) I have noticed that having the goback feature of winXP does NOT slow down your machine. It preforms the actions during drive inactivity, so you wont notice it working. In fact, it shuffles the hard drive around during inactivity; so dont worry if you see the light on when you're not using it. My suggestion is to leave the function on for your c drive only, but turn it off on the other drives. you'll find this function under properties of my comptuer. Also there, you'll find the choice to disable auto update for winXP. I would turn this off too!
2) If you right click on your network connection, you[ll find the ability to turn off the firewall. I would do this, since it really doesnt do anything except annoy if you try and use FTP.
3) Since you already use win2k, I probably dont have to tell you this. However, it is the biggest mistake I've made. Dont touch services.exe except to turn off the following: tcpip bios and remote registry.
Now, I dont see why you wont be able to format another partition into nfts through windows. Isnt that option in 'my computer' if you right click on the drive? Just remember that if my memory serves me correct, there is a differance between converting a drive to nfts and formatting it to nfts.
There are a lot more tweaks to recommend, but those are the most important.
