Hi guys,
Just got wireless broadband and I know nothing about firewalls or any of that. My provider is putting a firewall program on my computer tomorrow and he says I need to tell him the ports my games will use so the tech can "unlock" them.
Nascar4 tells the ports it uses in the readme file. However other games dont give me this info.

1) How can I find out what ports are needed for what games,
2) Is there a program that can do this for me?
Short of emailing the tech dept. of every game, I am really hoping there is an easier way.

TIA
John

it should be an easy job for the tech to see it for himself..... just install the firewall and run the game..... when it connects to the net there should be an attempt in the Firewall log which stated which ports the game was trying to use..

Or hit the webpages of your game.

Thanks guys,
I found most of the ones needed by hitting the web sites. Never noticed that stuff before, prolly cause I didn't need it :)

Zone Alarm is a great program to learn what is leaving your system. So if you are running a server, and you activate the game, it will tell you the port. Makes it nice and simple..
