Is the professional that much better than the home version?

Professional is meant for business and Home is meant, well, for the home :D Not the one is better than the other, they just serve a different purpose.

Professional is better, based on the fact that is has more features.

Kinda like a car. You can get the base model, or the deluxe model, with power seats, night vision, premium stereo, 17 inch rims with performance tires. etc, etc. That's the Home vs. Pro pretty much.

I dont know about you, but I'd much rather have the performance tires.:D

Do you have examples of these crazy "deluxe" features for us? Like does it come with free porn movies or auttomatic overclocker or something? ;)

really? I spend the first hour changing everything around! I mean, do I really need a system restore on my gaming partition or my mp3 partition? And the firewall does a lot more harm then good!

Here's microsoft's reasons to get Pro over Home.

Greater security, including the ability to encrypt your files and folders, to protect your business data.

Premier mobile support for the ability to work offline or access your computer remotely.

Built-in support for high-performance multiprocessor systems.
Designed to work with Microsoft Windows Servers and management solutions.

Communicate efficiently with others around the world by working in any given language.

If you are buying it, I would get the home version. Unless you need some of those functions, I would hardly consider it worth another hundred dollars.
