WIN XP Help.

OK. I am working through all these incompatible issues with XP and my hardware/software. I have one last problem which I can not solve and is extremely frustrating. In "my computer" I have 9 drives. I only need the
a:floppy, c:HD, d:DVD, and e:CD Writer. I can go to the device manager and uninstall the additional drives, but they re-appear after boot up again. Its a pain because when I am trying to write a cd or play a dvd etc... it asks me to to identify which drive, being there is 9 of them. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanx.

do you have 9 drives or is it just reporting you do?

it is 9 drives of which 6 of them are my cd writer. I can access the writer from drives G: to L: I loaded the NTFS from scratch, thinking that using the upgrade FAT32 was partioning the drives.
That didnt help either, so what I did was go into the device manager and into the properties of each of the extra drives and disabled them. Now they dont appear anymore, although they still exist in the device manager.

NOt really sure I follow - but, have you tried hiding them with Tweak UI or some other program?
