Help! I am having trouble setting up my home network. I am using a linksys router to share my internet connection with my 98 and 2k server machines. I am able to get on the internet when I use the rounter as the DHCP server but no love when I use the win 2k advanced machine. Anyone familiar with setting this up?

I do this all the time in my setups, as I hate the routers DHCP service, and trust a real servers DHCP.
Turn off the DHCP server on the router....Windows DHCP service will fail to start if it detects another DHCP server on the network.
Set the servers DHCP to hand out the IP scope that the Linksys did...192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.200 or so, same Class C subnet which was 255.255.255.0
It also has to hand out the routers IP address, which was 192.168.1.1
Lastly, it needs to hand out the DNS servers which your router also did...which are your ISP's two DNS servers. You can find out what those are by looking on your routers status page when it's connected, your ISP's support page, any documentation that your ISP gave you when you signed up, or calling your ISP's support.
Just in case you get jammed up after your routers DHCP is turned off...take one workstation and assign it a static IP of something like 192.168.1.2 and 255.255.255.0 subnet....which will allow you to then get to the routers admin page to turn DHCP back on if needed.
I also kick off DNS service on the server, and hand that out as the third DNS server..in case the router goes down, and your workstations are looking for name resolution, they will have a hard time cuz they keep looking for the ISP's DNS for name resolution. I've needed this on some larger networks when DSL does down, things like Outlook clients cannot resolve to the Exchange server. Setting up local DNS and WINS helps this.
