Ok im running Win XP 2600 AOL 5.0 was working fine until I got on and it said I have to upgrade to a AOL working XP version and I only had 2 more logins allowed on 5.0 so I upgraded well the problem is that AOL seems to run slow and I cant surf the web when I type a HTTP site in I just get this page cant be displayed for every site I try I noticed that the AOL upgrade adds another Local Area Connection in the network connections setup instead of just using the one I have already connected that alows me to use IE is this the problem? I have no clue how to fix this like I said 5.0 works great but it wont let me use it anymore due to running WinXP thanks to anyone who can help!

AOL 5.0 does not include support for XP, I think 6.0 does. Download the latest version from aol.com (http://free.aol.com/tryaolfree/cdt.adp?139331). As for the speeds, well.. That's inherent when using the AOL service.

Depending if you get an error message there are serveral ways to fix your problem.... If you are getting the error Request for host has taken longer than expected try this.... Open AOL but don't sign on... XP only works with 7.0... Got to settings on the task bar and select preferences... Next font, text, and graphics... On the max space for art bring this number down to (1).. Click on save and then select file from the upperleft hand side and select exit... You should get a short message... Open AOL again and go through the same steps.... Except this time put it up to (40) click save and log on.... If that doesn't work go to system information and uninstall the AOL adapter.... Everything in 7.0 is linked to graphics.... If you are getting an error message after all that AOL will direct you to do 2 things.... Download a new browser or reinstall AOL.. If none of this works I would say to get rid of it and start from scratch..... I just hope your using dial up and not DSL... DSL XP is why 7.0 hasn't gone gold yet....
